The course at The Inspiration Club has been carefully crafted over many years. From the moment the flowing landscape was first sculpted, to the day Tom Mackenzie completed the surrounds, the design team has remained true to the original concept – all types of golfer playing affordable golf on the best possible golf course.
The involvement of Mackenzie & Ebert, who advise many of the most highly ranked existing courses in the world including eight of the ten Open venues, began in 2021. Their brief was to design links style greens and bunker complexes that are inspired by some of their very favourite golf courses and complement the existing landscape.
Tough revetted links style bunkers and carefully positioned hazards will challenge and reward your game. Those flirting with them are frequently rewarded with an easier next shot. Once you’re on the green, expect a pureness of ball roll equivalent to the very best putting greens courtesy of Pure Distinction bentgrass. This grass uses less water than other species and has a consistent pureness of ball roll that other grasses cannot match.
Sustainability has been at the heart of the course design, examples of which include the use of Eco Bunkers, which use a patented construction method to produce high profile bunkers that resemble traditional Scottish revetted bunkers. There is also thoughtful water management in place alongside extensive rewilding that is already bringing several native species back to the site after many years.
To ensure that the course is accessible to as many people as possible, The Inspiration has tee positions based on ability. The Black (6,610 yards), Orange (6,100 yards) and Purple (5,440 yards) will offer golfers of all abilities the chance to enjoy playing this truly remarkable golf course.
We look forward to welcoming you when you come and play our modern links in the City.
